Apple Laptop Software Update
Every time software from Apple requests to be updated by Apple Software Update, the error pictured below pops-up and I end-up having to do a manual reinstall. Here the picture shows the most recent update for iCloud and iTunes, but I have also had QuickTime do the same thing. It would seem like each manual install would reinstall a fresh copy of ASU, but it keeps having the same issues. Please help diagnose this issue. The 'Download Only' option in the popup window does work, but it would be nice for ASU to do that itself.
A software updater is pretty useless if it doesn't update software. 😝
- Or you can check for the update manually, since WatchOS 7 is already available. To do this, on your iPhone, open the Apple Watch app and tap the My Watch tab. Tap General Software Update.
- The Apple logo should appear on your screen with a loading bar, and after that you should boot into Safe Mode. From here, run the macOS update as you normally would to install the update, hopefully without a hitch. Check the Apple System Status Page.
- Go into Programs and Features and uninstall: iTunes, Apple Application Support, Apple Mobile Device Support, Apple Software Update. Download a fresh copy of iTunes. Laptops, phones.
- Software updates keep your computer and programs secure, fix errors, and provide new features. Many apps that you install will get regular updates that can improve functionality. Apple also releases system updates that keep your Mac secure and stable.
WatchOS Beta Software. WatchOS 7 beta requires Apple Watch Series 3 or later and iPhone 6s or later running iOS 14 beta. To update the software on Apple Watch, you’ll need to: Make sure your Apple Watch has at least a 50 percent charge. Connect your iPhone to Wi-Fi. Keep your iPhone next to your Apple Watch to make sure they’re in range.

Apple Software Update Not There
Hello, Kstevensmd.
I understand that you would like a bit of assistance with Apple Software Update for Windows. I’m glad you took time to post and glad to lend a hand.
One thing I wanted to note is that Apple Software Update isn’t an app in and of itself. It is a feature of iTunes for Windows that will help you run updates when required. The Apple Support article, How to use Apple Software Update for Windows, has some very helpful information. I pulled what I feel to be the most relevant and posted it below.
How to run Apple Software Update
1. Click on the Windows icon in the lower-left corner of your Windows screen.
2.Type Apple Software Update in the search field.
3. Click on Apple Software Update when it appears in the search results dialog.

You can also enable automatic updates.
Have iTunes automatically check for new versions every week: Choose Edit > Preferences, click Advanced, then make sure the “Check for new software updates automatically” is selected.
I hope this helps!
Best Regards.
